Inspiration

In keeping with the unfolding Designer Collection’s Garden of Eden story, Nagib Tabbah was inspired by childhood memories to create Daisy Love, a series of rings and earrings that recall youthful love. “Like most people, I have a memory of myself before I was 10 years old where I had a platonic relationship with a girl”, says Tabbah. “We spent holidays in Switzerland and would play outside, in nature. I remember picking daisies with her and then plucking each petal one by one whilst chanting ‘She loves me, she loves me not...’” As Tabbah grew up in Monaco, the rhyme was spoken in French; where the loves grows and then explodes into nothing: “Je t’aime, une peu, beaucoup, passionnément, à la folie, pas du tout...” (which translates as: I love you, a little, very much, passionately, madly, not at all...), before beginning all over again.

Innocence and Charm

The Daisy love collection was born out of this game, which for adults evokes a heady mix of anticipation, desire, hope and rejection. « I wanted the places to reflect how we used to fall in love 30 years ago », says Tabbah, who designed the daisy petals on the ring to have movement, emulating the idea of plucking petals.
« With the collection we have given Eve in our Garden of Eden a daisy to pick while she ponders love. The innocence and charm reminds us of a time in our lives when things were simpler, and the petals and flower’s center, which are full pavé - covered in the white diamonds and jonquilles − sparkle madly when they catch the sun.
