In the making
From a jewelry perspective, Nagib Tabbah conceptualized Eagle Soul in a radical way, taking an approach akin to that of a sculptor. “Throughout the creative process, freedom and delight were my guidelines,” he explains. “I started working a wax and silver model until the ideal proportions were reached. An 18k rose gold model was then created to study the ideal weight and understand the play of light on the body. Decisive moments of the creation included the powerful position of the Eagle and the charged intensity of the eyes.” In particular, Nagib wanted to imbue the wings with a natural flowing aesthetic. To achieve this, 150 individually crafted feathers were created, each unique in size and shape, and all carefully positioned to reenact the eagle in flight. The feathers graduate from two to four layers, appearing neat at the front and ruffled at the back. Sporadic diamond setting increased the sense of lightness. The final touch was to delicately set the eyes with intense green emeralds, bringing life into the bird, and so Eagle Soul is born.
